Plantain - 2-3
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Channa dal - 1 tsp
Onion - 1/2 medium
Green chillies - 4-5
Ginger - small piece
Salt to taste
Oil
Method:
Boil the plantain in Idly cooker for 15 min. (Without removing skin). Let it cool.
Then remove the skin from plantain and mash into small pieces.
Heat oil add mustard seeds, urad dal, Channa dal, green chillies, ginger and then onion.
Fry till onion turns pinkish color then add salt and mashed plantain.
Cook for 10-15 min in low flame.
Serve with rice or roti.
I have tried podiams using potato and sweet potato,yam,but still this is in my list :) Looks good !

ReplyDeleteHi Anu,your podimas recipe is good.can i say my suggesion.Insteed of boiling on idly cooker,u put plantains on a plastic cover & microwavw it for 4 min(for 2 plantains)insteed of smashing grate it n carrot grator,its easy & look nice.
